If you are an expatriate living in Mexico and over 60 years old, you can obtain a Mexico Senior Benefits Card, commonly known as INAPAM card.<\/p>

The National Institute for Senior People issues the card (in Spanish, \u201cInstituto Nacional de las Personas Adultas Mayores<\/em>\u201d or \u201cINAPAM<\/em>\u201d), which is a branch of the Mexican federal government.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

To get the INAPAM card, the senior has to personally go to the local INAPAM office, file a form, and submit the following documents:<\/p>

  1. Two copies of temporal or permanent residency card.<\/li>
  2. Two copies of CURP number.<\/li>
  3. Two copies of passport.<\/li>
  4. Two copies of proof of address (power, water, phoner, or cable utility bill not older than two months).<\/li>
  5. Name and phone number of a direct family member to contact in case of emergency.<\/li>
  6. Two recent small (2.5 x 3 cms) color photographs (this size in Mexico is known as \u201cinfantil<\/em>\u201d). Frontal photograph, without glasses or hats, wearing a white shirt.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Once you have your card, I advise that you show it at every opportunity.
    Unfortunately, some stores that have discounts for seniors do not advertise it.<\/p>
